Collect signups with a form

Share a hosted signup page or its QR code. New subscribers join the lists you choose once they confirm their address.

Updated

A signup form is a page we host for you. Share its link, or its QR code, and the people who sign up land in the audience lists you choose.

Create one

  1. Go to Forms and click New.
  2. Give it a name. This is for you, not your subscribers.
  3. Choose which lists new signups join. You can pick more than one.
  4. Decide whether to ask for first and last name, and whether either is required. Email is always asked for.
  5. Save, then switch the form to active when you're ready to share it.

Share it

Every form gets its own link and its own QR code. The link works anywhere: a bio, an email footer, a chat message. The QR code is the one that earns its keep offline, on a table tent, a flyer, or a poster at an event.

What happens when someone signs up

They don't become a contact straight away. The flow is:

  1. They submit the form.
  2. We email them a confirmation link.
  3. They click it.
  4. Now they're a contact, added to the lists you chose.

Between steps 1 and 3 they're pending, which is why a signup you just watched happen may not appear in your audience yet.

That extra step is worth the friction. Confirmed addresses bounce less and complain less, and those two numbers are most of what decides whether your campaigns reach inboxes at all. It also means a mistyped address never becomes a contact, because nobody can confirm an inbox they don't own.

Customize the experience

  • Confirmation email subject. What lands in their inbox after they submit.
  • Welcome message. The text of that confirmation email.
  • Redirect after submit. Send people to your own page instead of our "check your email" screen.
  • Redirect after confirm. Same, for the moment they finish confirming.

Leave any of these blank and we use a sensible default.

Signups that don't go through

A confirmation link can fail for a few reasons. The person sees a plain explanation rather than an error:

  • Expired. Confirmation links don't last forever. They can sign up again.
  • Suppressed. The address previously unsubscribed, hard bounced, or filed a spam complaint. Suppression holds even through a new signup, on purpose.
